Living life as a single mother and struggling for years to make ends meet inspired Mia to more deeply educate herself about personal finance topics. As a journalist, she had the perfect platform to reach out to nationally renowned money experts and begin asking questions. This led her on a journey of expanding her knowledge and writing about all things money related, whether its mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, budgeting, investing, student loans, wealth building, or debt management.

As her experience in this arena grew, Mia developed a parallel career focused on writing about personal finance for some of the nation’s most well-known financial news and information websites and has even served as a single-mom personal finance expert for a national bank. Mia’s work has appeared in a long list of top financial publications. In addition to having worked as a staff writer for Fortune, her work currently appears on NYPost.com, FoxBusiness.com/Fox Money, Bankrate; Lower My Bills and Newsweek. Her work is also syndicated on MSN Money, Yahoo Finance, and Inc.

Unfortunately, amid Google’s 2024 algorithm revisions meant to penalize publications that use freelance content, much of Mia’s extensive portfolio of work with Parents, Travel + Leisure, Real Simple, Better Homes & Gardens and many other publications has been eliminated from the publication’s websites, like that of many other journalists.
