Mia has a long history of supporting the non-profit industry with her work, particularly causes and issues she is passionate about. She served as a communications consultant for The International Community Foundation (ICF), a San Diego-based non-profit focused on increasing charitable giving and volunteerism in support of communities and non-profit organizations in Mexico and Central America. Working for ICF, Mia conceptualized, wrote, and edited content for an audience specific marketing/donor giving guide. She also wrote numerous feature articles and donor profiles for ICF newsletters and its various other publications. Currently, Mia serves on a volunteer basis as the Director of Communications for the San Diego Democrats for Environmental Action, one of the largest environmental organizations in San Diego County. In this role she produces the organization’s weekly newsletter and messaging, writes press releases and coordinates with the media when needed.
